Meet the team

One team, one standard.

Sixteen loan officers, one name above the door. No personal sub-brands, no separate logos, no version of Atlas that behaves differently depending on who picks up the phone. Whoever you end up working with, you get the same standard — and we will make sure you end up with the right one.

The people

The two careers this team was built on.

Leslie and Dwayne came to this from different directions — four decades of VA lending and leadership on one side, two decades of top-producing origination in Houston on the other. Sixty years between them. They lead the sixteen officers on the team today, and they train every one that follows.

Leslie Bergen, Founder and VP of VA Lending

Leslie Bergen

Founder & VP of VA Lending NMLS# 383352  ·  “Your Mortgage Mom”
  • VA Loans
  • First-Time Buyers
  • Military Families
  • Multi-State Lending

Over four decades in lending, and the title her clients gave her rather than one she chose. She reviews a family's complete financial picture rather than a single number on a page — celebrating the wins, guiding the not-right-now situations, and writing action plans for the buyers who are not ready yet.

Her servant heart has a particular place for military families, and the VA benefit is where four of those decades have gone. She also leads how Atlas recruits and trains, which is why the standard she set is the one the whole team works to.

Dwayne Graham

Co-Founder & Branch Manager NMLS# 243824  ·  Houston and surrounding areas
  • First-Time Buyers
  • VA Loans
  • FHA
  • Luxury & Jumbo
  • Investment Properties

Twenty years originating across Houston as one of the region's top producers, built on speed, structuring, and knowing exactly what keeps a pipeline moving. He has sat on both sides of the closing table, which is why he argues for the borrower rather than processing them.

He runs the loan officer team day to day. He is the reason a new officer's first file closes rather than stalls, and the reason the operations side works like a pit crew.

Find your officer

The right officer for you is a matching problem.

Mortgage licensing is issued to individuals, not to companies, and specialisms differ across the team. So rather than asking you to scroll a wall of faces and guess, we do the matching. Tell us the state and the situation, and you will be introduced to the officer who is licensed where you are buying and has done your kind of file many times before.

Tell us where

The state you are buying in decides who can legally write your loan. It is the first question we ask, and it settles most of the matching on its own.

  • The state you are buying in
  • Whether you are relocating
  • Your rough timeline

Tell us what

A VA purchase, a first home, a self-employed file, a jumbo, an investment property. Every officer here has a shape of file they know cold.

  • The loan type, if you know it
  • Anything that has been declined before
  • Anything unusual about the income

We make the introduction

A named officer, licensed where you are buying, who has your details before the first call so you are not starting the story again.

  • A person, not a queue
  • Their direct line and email
  • No obligation to go further

Leslie is the right call for VA loans, military families, first-time buyers, and anyone buying outside Texas.

Dwayne is the right call for Houston and Texas buyers, FHA financing, luxury and jumbo purchases, and investment properties.

Behind every file

The people you will never meet, doing the work you will feel.

Our operations team has been together more than twenty years. They are the pit crew — the reason a loan officer here can spend the day with clients instead of worrying about their files, and the reason a file that needs restructuring gets restructured rather than abandoned.

Twenty years in the same room is not a small thing in this industry. It means the awkward scenario in your file is one somebody here has already solved, and the person solving it does not need to be told twice.

  • Conditions cleared before they stall you

Most delays trace back to a document request. Ours are chased the day they land, not the day someone notices.

  • One process, not sixteen

Every officer runs their files the same way through the same team. It is why a busy week does not change the experience you get.

  • A second set of eyes on the hard ones

Self-employed income, thin credit, a gap with a story behind it. The files that need structuring get people who have structured them before.

One standard

Why every officer here looks the same.

There are no personal sub-brands at Atlas. No individual logos, no separate colour schemes, no officer-branded microsites. One identity, one set of assets, used by everyone — so the fortieth person to join presents exactly like the first, and you can tell you are dealing with Atlas whoever you are dealing with.

01

One identity

Sixteen officers today and a target of forty by the end of December. A shared name only works if nobody is quietly building a different one underneath it.

02

One set of assets

The same cards, the same templates, the same explanations of how a VA benefit works. Nobody has to invent their own, and nothing goes out that has not been checked.

03

One standard of care

Trained by the two people who set it, working through the same operations team. The consistency you notice is the consistency we built for.

Every route home

Tell us the state and the situation. We will do the matching.

One conversation, no obligation, and a named person on the other end of it. And if you are a loan officer reading this rather than a buyer, there is a seat here worth asking about.
